Fishing Rods

Fishing rods are usually associated with the sport of angling. They vary in length from 60cm inches to approximately 6 meters. The longer the fishing rod, the farther it is the launch and the reach. The types of rods are as many as the types of fishing locations and fish species.

They are thick and strong to resist the powerful waves and stay at the bottom. Ice fishing rods are generally short and don’t exceed 90 cm, used for fishing through the holes in frozen lakes or ponds.

Fishing rods have to be purchased knowing exactly the type of fishing you want to practice and your personal experience. You may seek huge catches but you may not be able to pull them out, but instead you could break the rod. The sizes are too varied to not purchase one on your own size and strength. You can choose fishing rods according to power which refers to the type of fish species you will be catching: ultra light action – for small lures when fishing for trout or pan fish, light action, medium action – for fishing in bigger rivers for smallmouth bass or walleye, medium heavy action – for salmon and heavy action – for much stronger fish like muskie or pike.

It is recommended to buy at least 2 fishing rods, in case you change different locations or the weather doesn’t allow you to use only one type. In any case, you need to be prepared.
